Kupang: The sea, air and land borders between Indonesia and East Timor
need to be fixed to prevent the spread of border violations by people from
both countries that live in the border regions.
"The frequency of border violations is high enough to claim
victims and result in the arrest of a number of Indonesians by the UN
Peacekeeping troops in East Timor recently," said the 161/Wirasakti
Military Subdistrict commander, Col Moeswarno Moesanip after the 58th TNI
Indonesian National Military Forces anniversary the Tenau Kupang Harbour
on Monday 6 October .
According to Moesanip, the border definition need not separate the two
countries by building a wall like in China or Berlin (Germany).
"Understanding is enough for the community, like in Irian Jaya and
Papua New Guinea. passage omitted on repetitive details
