Dhaka, Mar 31 (UNB) - A 25-day training programme on government financial management, arranged for 40 officers of the Treasury Department of East Timor, concludes here tomorrow (Thursday). Ministry of Finance, Comptroller and Auditor General of Bangladesh and Financial Management Academy jointly organised the training programme. The training programme was arranged following a request by Vice Minister for Finance and Planning of East Timor Aycha Bassarewan to the Comptroller and Auditor General of Bangladesh. Cabinet Secretary Dr Saadat Husain will be the chief guest at the concluding ceremony while Comptroller and Auditor General Asif Ali the special guest. Similar training courses will be arranged for four more batches of eight trainees of East Timor. Training for the second batch of eight officers from East Timor will begin on April 12, according to a press release.
