Support for Newly Formed Protestant Church in Timor Leste In mid April the Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Australia, Robert Benn, The Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of South Australia, Gary Ware, and the Pastor of the Darwin Presbyterian Church, Rob Duncanson, travelled to Timor Leste for a fact-finding and friendship building visit to the newly formed Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC) of Timor Leste. This new church started in August 2008, and has grown rapidly since then. It now has over 4000 members throughout the Western half of Timor Leste. The visitors saw the many struggles of the local people and now have the foundation needed to work within the Presbyterian Church of Australia to encourage further practical and spiritual support for this church with whom we have found a deep seated affinity.
