PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC IN SOUTH KOREA TO ATTRACT INVESTMENTS

The President of the Republic, Dr. José Ramos-Horta, left today for a four days private visit to the Republic of South Korea. The main goal of this trip is to attract investments to Timor-Leste.

On the top of the Presidential agenda is a meeting with the Korean Prime Minister Myung-bak Hodi, to whom the Nobel Peace Prize Laureate intends to express his gratitude for welcoming Timorese workers.

Dr. Ramos-Horta’s agenda includes a meeting with South Korean businessmen, to report them about the security situation in Timor-Leste, which is essential for transmitting trust to external capital.

The program comprehends also a meeting with Timorese students, who have been living in South Korea.
