Pacific teach-in sends message of support
to West Papuan political prisoners
During the weekend of June 2, ETAN
collected messages of support for West Papuan political
prisoners at the Moana Nui Teach-In in Berkeley, CA. The
conference - subtitled Peoples of the Pacific: Confronting
Militarization, Resource Theft, Globalization, and America's
Pacific Pivot - was organized by the International
Forum on Globalization and included panels on a variety of
Pacific struggles. Speakers at the conference included two West
Papuans and ETAN's National Coordinator, John M. Miller.

ETAN is "A voice of reason,
criticizing the administration's
reluctance to address ongoing
human rights violations and
escalating oppression in West
Papua and against religious
minorities throughout
Indonesia."
