Notícia SIR-6152557 Temas: East Timor: Authorities deport Australian suspected of subversive activities Dili, June 29 (Lusa) - East Timorese authorities have deported an Australian national suspected of subversive activities because he lacked residency papers, a police official told Lusa Tuesday. The official said Julian King, who described himself as a freelance journalist, was deported Monday on order from the Interior Ministry. King, who had lived in East Timor for more than four years, has said he planned to appeal the decision. King was detained for questioning on suspicion of subversive activities on May 5. Police said they found classified documents and weapons during a search of his Dili home. Prime Minister Mari Alkatiri charged King was among the frontline of the mob that sacked and burned his home during rioting in Dili in December 2002. EL/SAS Lusa Copyright © 2003 Agencia Lusa.
