ETAN Keep Working Now that East Timor has disappeared from the media
once again, ETAN needs to rely on old and new sources for money. Please
support ETAN’s important work to bring the refugees home, achieve
justice, and build a democratic and prosperous East Timor. Your donation
will help us advocate for the East Timorese people during this new phase
of the country’s transition to independence. The UN has made the U.S.
dollar East Timor’s official interim currency. Show your patriotism
by sending a check to ETAN today! Tax-deductible donations of over $50
for ETAN’s educational work can be made out to “WESPAC Foundation”
and mailed to ETAN’s White Plains office. If you’d like to make a
tax-deductible credit card donation via the internet, point your browser here.

East Timorese Speaker to Tour
the U.S. This
Fall
ETAN will bring an activist from East Timor for a fall tour of the
United States. Although as we go to press it is uncertain who that speaker
will be, she will address development issues in East Timor, give a
first-hand perspective on the year-old United Nations administration, and
discuss how solidarity activists can best support East Timor’s
transition to genuine independence. Tentative tour dates are October 25
- November 21. If you want more information about the tour as it becomes
available, or are interested in organizing an event, please contact
at kristin@etan.org.
