Sydney, 18 Aug (Lusa) - The participants in FRETILIN's present national conference in Sydney on Monday unanimously passed a motion to send a message of greeting to the people of Indonesia on the occasion of Jakarta's 53rd independence day. The motion was passed by acclamation. Mau-Hodu, who represents FRETILIN's central committee at the conference, told Lusa it was "important" to establish "links of liaison" between the people of East Timor and the Indonesian population, stressing that the people of East Timor were yearning for celebrating their home land's independence. Hodu said that same as the people of Indonesia also the people of East Timor had the right to live in a free and independent country.
