The Darwin-based Timor Gap Joint Authority says the next project to come on line in the
region will be the Bayu-Undan gas field.
Seven years after the authority was set up, the first oil has begun to flow from the
Elang and Kakatua fields, in the Timor Gap.
The Authority's Stuart Cave says he expects a development application for the gas field
at the end of the year.
"The first stage will be recycling of the gas, and then reinjecting the gas to get
the liquids out, and then hopefully somewhere down the track, will be the gas being
shipped to an LNG plant," he said.
