Subject: Names of some of the dead in Alas

I.The name of the people killed by Indonesian military:
1.Vicente Xavier, the tribal chief of Tai Tudak. He was shot dead by Battalion 744 on
13 November 1988 at Aubariqui, Fatuberliu.
2.Victor, a young man from Village Tutuluro, Same. He was shot dead on 16 November
1988.
3.Adriano Fernandes, a young man from Tai-Tudak, Alas. He was shot dead on 9 November
1988.
4.Duarte, the village chief of Tutuluro, Same. Shot dead on 13 November 1998.
5. Domingos Mandato, the vice secretary of Mhaquidan, Alas. Shot dead on 13 November
1998.
6. Fransisco Xavier, killed at Turiscai.
>From the same source, CNRT in Dili, it was reported that 20 people have been
detained and 20 people are missing.
It is believed that many people have been killed at Taitudak, Alas but information
because nobody is allowed to enter to the location. It's totally blockaded. It is same as
the Dili massacre when only people with licences could go out and in. Even Red Cross could
only get the information from military.
