26 OUT 98 - 10:13 East Timor/Portugal: Intra-Timorese meeting to discuss autonomy models
Lisbon, Oct. 26 (Lusa) - The United Nations will ask the participants in the next "intra-Timorese" meeting in Austria about the autonomy models for East Timor, a reliable source told LUSA in Lisbon on Sunday. The meeting will be held in Austria between 31 October and 2 November.
The source said the participants in the meeting would be asked by the UN about their opinions in several possible autonomy models for the occupied territory. Controversial pro-Indonesian governor Osorio Soares will take part in the meeting. However, East Timor's two bishops Dom Ximenes Belo and Dom Basilio do Nascimento, will not participate in the fourth "intra-Timorese" meeting under the auspices of the United Nations.
