East-Timor:Four injured in Ainaro reportedly without medical assistance in Dili
Lisbon, Jan 5 (Lusa) - The lack of medical assistance in a hospital in Dili could
endager the lives of four young East Timorese civilians shot by pro-Indonesian militiamen
in Ainaro on Sunday, a representative of the Timorese National Resistance Council (CNRT)
has told Lusa in Lisbon by telephone from Dili. Leandro Isaac, CNRT's co-ordinator in East
Timor, said that "hundreds" of civilians had recently fled to Dili, capital of
East Timor, because they feared attacks by the pro-Indonesian militia movement Sukarelawan
operating in the Ainaro area. According to CNRT reports, 12 East Timorese civilians were
shot by the militia movement near Ainaro on Sunday, resulting in the immediate death of
two of the victims.-Lusa nnnn
